In a combined 7th grade force, the Colts faced Comfort last Thursday night and came home with a win after a high scoring game. A huge 50 yard pass from Sam Guardiola to Adrian Bonilla got the Colts on the score board followed by the 2-point conversion by Jonathan Weinkam. Guardiola’s arm was a canon with three more touch downs from passes. Elijah Sanchez received a pass and ran in a touch down from 28 yards out and Gabriel Esquibel.
Guardiola would pass to Esquibel for the next two touchdowns, a 21 yard completion and then a 50 yard. “The 50 yard touchdown completion was a special play as he made a number of the defense miss on his way to the end zone,” said Coach Quenton Sanders. The final touchdown came from Kolt Hackebeil from 3 yards out making the final game 38-24.
“The defense gave more than we would have liked, but Zack Serna and Adrian Beltran made some great plays. We are continuing our upward trend with Hondo week coming up next. We all know how huge the next game is and we are ready to get to Thursday.” – Coach Sanders
