7th Grade Colts beat Poteet

Gold Colts
Continuing their undefeated streak, the 7th Grade Gold Colts beat Poteet 35-12 on Monday December 17. Coach Jacob Sanchez and his young team made quick work of the Aggies and were able to run this offenses and defenses aggressively.
“Boys competed well and we came out with the win. I am proud in the boy’s competitiveness throughout the entire game. Antonio Gamboa had a great game both offensively and defensively. We played great team ball for our 4th win of the season.” Coach Sanchez
Victor Schaefer scored 6 points, Antonio Gamboa 6, Zack Serna 4, Jose Morales 6, Roger Gutierrez 6, and Johnathan Weinkam 3points. These Colts are now 4-0 for the season and will have their next game January 10th against Crystal City.
Maroon Colts
Bringing their record to 2-2 for the season, the 7th Grade Maroon Colts crusted Poteet on December 17th. In the 27-19 win, the Colts hard to work hard to come from behind. “Against a team like Poteet, you have to be ready to play from the tip off and we were not. We fell behind fast and competed to get back into the game. We started the game the game very slow it was 4-3 Poteet after the 1st. These young men showed a lot of heart to keep going after a slow 1st quarter start. Sam Guardiola played an amazing game. We are excited about this group of young men going forward for this season.” Coach Sanchez
The Colts made 10 of their 25 free throws. Sammy Guardiola made 4 points, Makhi Burford 3, Elijah Sanchez 3, Josiah Martinez 3, Aaron Bonilla 4, Brandon Martinez 8, and Adrian Beltran 2 points.
The Colts will be on winter break until after the first of the year when they face Crystal City January 10th.
