The Poteet Junior Aggies gave the 7th grade Colts a great game last Thursday night but the Colts came out the winners of the match up at 30-20. The first points came from Gabriel Esquibel with a 62 yard touchdown and set the tone of the match up. Elijah Sanchez found Sam Guardiola for the extra two points. Guardiola would add to the score board again when he found the end zone after a 35 yard run. Jonathan Weinkam was in the end zone for the 2 point conversion when Guardiola found him with a pass.
Guardiola threw for a 52 yard reception to Elijah Sanchez but they failed to score. Weinkam forced a fumble on the next kick off and Sanchez scored on the 27 yard fumble recovery. Guardiola completed the 2 point conversion. Brandon Martinez and Adrian Gutierrez were great defensive line.
“I really believe that we are peaking as a team right now, and I am excited about the chance we have to end our season on a high note. We came out fast and strong versus the Aggies on Thursday. Our last game is this Thursday at home versus Carrizo Springs. This will be only the second we have had the chance to play in front of our home fans, so please come out and support us.
