“We are getting drugs off the street, one arrest at a time,” said Devine Police Chief Benavides.
Devine Police Department has made 47 arrests for drug charges this year, and continues to crack down on drugs in our area. They continue to utilize Hondo PD’s and the county’s drug dogs when they are available, per an interlocal agreement.
“When we arrest somebody who has drugs, it is nice to be able to search the vehicle before releasing it,” said Lieutenant Chris Andrews. “A search resulted in the recovery of quite a bit of drugs back in May, including over 10 grams of meth.”
